The one and only ever popular Rex. Lord and supporter of all he surveyed. True to his birth, he grew the famous Magpie colours of Black and White. He was also the proud owner and wearer of a black and white collar. Whilst very popular with the fans, he could get a bit excited when the goals were coming in. But on one occasion,(much to the delight of the fans) he was incensed by the opposing team, broke his chain, and took off across the pitch and saw the opposing team off. The crowd made him worse by their cheers. No action was taken by a very prudent Referee, and prudent he was. It is rumoured he got extra rations from the team. It may have been the Broon Ale that got him going, but go he did....Dear old Rex! |
